Room Box Frames

These instructions are for a basic 2 foot by 2 foot room box.

Start with 1/2 or 3/4 inch pine cut into 2 inch widths.

Cut 1/4 inch deep by 1/4 inch wide grooves 1/2 inch in from each side as shown in Pictures 1 and 2.

Have 4 corner brackets and 8 wood screws and sleeves ready (Picture 3).

For a 2 foot by 2 foot room box, cut 2 pieces in 23 inch lengths for side pieces.

Cut two pieces in 26 inch lengths for the front and back.

Cut 1/4 inch deep perpendicular grooves on each end of the front and back pieces at 1/2 inch from edge.

Cut 1/4 inch deep perpendicular grooves on each end of the front and back pieces at 1-1/4 inch from edge. See Picture 4.

Pre-drill 1/2 inch deep starter holes for screw sleeves. Use corner brackets to measure for hole placement. See Pictures 4 and 5.
